RE: Clunking noise.........again!

I've had this problem for two years ,exactly same symptoms as pad125 including only occurring in wet,.Teesside Audi have looked at it seven times and changed cv joints and shocks but it is now worse than ever.My car is booked in again next week and I'm going to press them for a new rack as suggested...

Perhaps I'm running the wrong pressures or have got a duff set.Fronts are 38psi , rears are 35psi. Is this about right?

Agree totally with the author of this post. I've said this before on this forum. Wet grip very poor in comparison with Michelins. Traction control light flickers round every 2nd gear corner. I'm going back to Michelins

Frequency of oil changes

Is it recommended to change the oil and filter more frequently than the variable service intervals which will be about 15k miles in my case - seems a long time for the oil to be in an engine of this nature.
How much do dealers charge for an intermediate oil change

How do I remove number plates

Can anyone please advise me how to remove the number plates as they do not appear to be held in place by screws. Are they simply stuck in place and it is just a case of pulling them off?
Thanks

No it's not from the tyres - I'm aware of that quirk .Thanks for the advice on lower-drag links ,I will mention that to the tech .Just want it fixing before warranty expires.

Knocking noise when manouvering

My car has an intermittent knocking noise from the front when on full right lock at parking speeds.Bizarrely this only occurs when it is wet! The dealer has looked at it three times ,the first two occasions they could not find anything. On the last visit they replaced a defective cv joint . Unfortun...

I would recommend PS2 over Goodyear assy as the wet grip is far superior in my experience

The morning after my last service I checked the oil when the car was stone cold and it was right on MAX. So I always check when engine is cold as I find the dipstick tricky to read when oil is warm and get inconsistent readings.Hope this helps.

Oil leak from top of engine

When checking the dipstick today, noticed small deposit of oil around one of the bolts that holds the red engine cover in place. Also a general misting of oil around the immediate surrounding area. Any ideas?
Cheers
