Re: Winter Tyres

I used Vred Wintrac Extremes last winter and they were great in the cold weather and what limited snow/ice there was in the UK. I travel to Switzerland fairly regularly and drove last winter for a bit of skiing as well and the tyres were ace! I switch them straight onto my standard 19" rims. The dow...

Re: Recommend me an indie - SW London/Surrey area

I have had very good experience with: Universal VW Audi in Latimer Road, W10 (so not strictly SW London). They had a couple of RS4's in there the other day doing DRC work and servicing. Peter who owns and runs it is a top bloke. Russell Automotive. They are in North London, but will do a free pickup...

Also look out for gearbox slipping under acceleration. Apparently, a few problems with the ZF boxes not being able to handle the power. They are sealed units so the whole thing needs replacing. About £6k fitted by Audi. I had mine replaced under warranty. If you're interested mine is about to be for...

Brake Lights

Hi All Hardly a thrilling topic, but my car has recently developed an interesting fault: When turned off and locked with the fob, if left for a few hours, the brake lights come on. This has resulted in a flat battery a few times now. I assume that this is caused by the Brake pedal lowering itself wh...

Annoying rattle + gearbox issue

My saloon has developed a very irritating rattle behind the dash, which sounds like it is emanating from the demisting airvent. Has anyone else had this? I was also wondering if this was something I could get at myself and whether or not I would need to remove the whole dash. BTW, I had the gearbox ...

gearbox slippage

I am a new member but have had my RS6 Saloon in Daytona Grey since April, bought from a dealer This has just happened to mine. Exactly as described in an earlier posting entitled "weird gearbox problem"- slippage under hard acceleration initially then the problem got worse so that even slight accele...
