the only filler plug i know of is in front of n/s driveshaft half way up side of gearbox

checked both levels ther spot on no leaks, tempted to drain transmission and use thicker oil, i know it wont make much difference (perhaps sawdust ep90 mixture wll LOL) . I take it thers only one oil level plug on the manual box ???

have recently developed a transmission whine, car has only done 45,000 miles, not sure what area of the gearbox, used to hear it in 4th and 5th under hard acceleration now its there in 6th and is getting worse, any of you guys any thoughts or ideas, has anyone on here removed and repaired a s4 box, ...

ive just fitted a uuc motorwerks short shifter, have it set at 40%, and the gearbox now feels great

my s4 has had both manifolds changed to cure a rattle, apparantly a common fault as something comes loose in manifold
