clutch
Yeah ..the clutch is a bitch to replace...12 hours seems a lot though..a good mechanic can do this in one day no problems. Make sure you don't put the OEM clutch back if you are going through the hassle of replacing the stupid thing you may as well get a really good clutch..the rs4 clutch is good fo...

changing turbos
come to think about it...most normal people with normal cars can check the turbos out in 30 minutes or so.. I think audi is the only car that has made the turbos impossible to get to without dropping or even pulling the engine out... Anyone here got a shortcut ? It's starting to piss me off ...that ...

right on
Bushy ...you are right on mate...the zero clearance lasted about 3 weeks. I don't know if one had defect from the start, but yesterday we took off the intercooler pipes to check for debris and sure enough little pieces of enamel were found. The zero clearance turbos are coated with enamel, and i am ...

boost pressure
What is your boost pressure before the ECU cuts it off ? Mine goes to 23 then then falls back down suddenly. Anyone got aftermarket turbos ? Mine whine like an owl hooting when car is cold. I blew an oil line today, ahaha !! oil all over the place...you should have seen the car behind me...his winds...

similar experience
I had the same experience..no bad smoking or white smoke, but in the end the turbos had to come out. The turbos had bad oil contamination, They were failing slowly that's for sure. I noticed this was a progressive thing, and lost power progressively too. I think audis do have a lot of oil in the int...

owning an rs4 in the USA
Susan ...unless you are totally insane, like myself, i strongly advise against importing an rs4 into the USA. Actually if you have a lot of money to throw away, Why not ? First of all, these cars are pretty fragile and spare parts have to be ordered from Europe. Depending on where you live in the US...

Re: DYNO RUNS
yeah ..all the wankers here are very fond of the 1/4 mile.
Actually some guys have monster mustangs and mitsubishi eclipses with 900 horsepower.
The problem with these guys, is that by the time their wheels have stopped spinning, i'm already at the other end of the quarter mile run, having a beer.

Re: major changes --a monster
yes i'm running stock injectors.
The clutch is a semi-racing clutch built by a guy in CA.
Of course with front mount intercoolers all the hoses have been changed.
I have not noticed a difference in oil temp with new cooler.
Oil temp seems to be very low anyhow.

Re: major changes --a monster
DOG CORRECTION I am sorry what i had stated previously was incorrect. 431 horses at the wheel, was with a frozen intercooler. Forget all this nonsense about air and no air...apparently 2 small fans were blowing towards the intercooler all the time. The ambient was 26 celcius yesterday, so we got 387...
