Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
So I was planning on waiting another year or so for the prices of the C8s to drop to around 80k for a second hand model and then buy my dream RS6 which ive been itching for, for ages now I then had a separate thought that I wanted to run past you all. Forget the RS6........ But a second hand Lotus ...

Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
Golf R estate....boring as hell. Had one for 2 years...did summink like 7k in it coz every time I walked outside, I grabbed the keys to something / anything else That's quite a sweeping statement & somewhat unusual on a thread for a car which basically shares it's DNA with the likes of the RS6:) Wh...

Re: Poor performance?!
Not wishing to play the 'don't dis a Golf R card', these cars really shouldn't be underestimated. Mine although only Stage 2 (with hardware) so pushing out about 410bhp, will comfortably & repeatably hit 0-60 in 3.2/3secs & although it will start to run out of puff once well over 100 & a C7 RS6 woul...

Re: C8 RS6 finally revealed
Only thing i find strange is Audi don't appear to have done anything more with the C8 RS6 than fit the C8 body & tech. Drivetrain & Engine remain the same, as do (it appears) most of the mechanicals. Does look nice, but at least BMW applied a totally different drivetrain to their new M5, with AWD &...

Re: Panoramic Sunroof, rear section - is it meant to tilt up like the front?
I think the above post should say only the front section tilts, in fact i'd be confident the rear section is purely a fixed piece of glass as per most other cars.

Re: C8 RS6 - what do you think it will do to C7 prices?
As has been said above, the arrival of the C8 RS6 (although i doubt we'll see it this year given the S hasn't been announced yet) will see C7 values drop further as a good chunk of C7 RS6 drivers will want the C8 & with more C7's chopped in to satisfy the demand you'll see a market awash (retrospect...

Re: Is the C7 RS6 just too big?
Been driving my 2017 RS6 PE for 15 months now and 21k miles, mainly motorway, and love the style (Cete air module, spacers, black optics etc), its presence, the comfort when you just want to cruise home, the attention it receives... but I am starting to feel it's just too big to be a great fast roa...

Re: 98 in a 70
Had a clean license for over 20yrs so am furious with myself if i do receive an NiP in the next few days. Wow, thats pretty impressive for the metal you've had! Does 'NW England' mean the Isle of Man.... :biggrin3: LOL, that made me chuckle :bigblink: Tend to have been very careful on the roads & o...

Re: 98 in a 70
As annoying as it is, i think i got caught on the M62 on Sunday 30th Sept. Stupid on my part as i saw the new cameras on the side of the gantry being a Smart Motorway & the gantry was set at 50mph, but the next one was set as 60mph & i usually set my ACC at 5mph above the gantry limit as this has al...

Re: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs 4S vs Cup 2 Shootout
Great spot & thanks for posting. Completed my first ever track day on Cup 2's yesterday (Donington) in the Golf R (all previous cars i'd tracked on MPSS) & the Cup 2's really are epic, however will require a little getting used to as the grip levels are so much higher than i expected so i'll need to...

Re: Recommendations for accomodation at Nurburgring
I've stayed here, it's where people say "you must" stay. http://www.am-tiergarten.de/en/sitemap yes, it's run by Sabine Schmidt's mum and is close to the ring. the rooms are fairly basic and there's not much action in evening. The steak is good though! I wonder if PhilT will ever allow the story of...

Re: C7 RS6's vs The Nurburgring
Cheers guys, I've been many times now in an E61 M5 and last year B8 RS4 so are aware of the basics on the track.. Cant wait.. Apologies, i thought your question was more generic rather than specific to the RS6. If you've hauled an M5 Touring round Nordschleife many times & a B8 RS4, then i doubt yo...
