Drove a couple around the track back in October for the M3 launch down here in New Zealand. The car definitely pulls harder from 6000RPM to redline than the RS4, but it lacks that mid-range punch and sharp throttle response of the RS4. I give top-end performance to the M3, braking even, and handling...

RE: Re: RE: Re: Mauled an 2.5
STI has almost as much torque as the RS4, so in terms of off the line acceleration, the STI will be ahead initially...STI also has much shorter gearing than the RS4 which helps in terms of acceleration... They tested the 2.5L International Spec down here in New Zealand recently (NZ Autocar), 0-100km...

Mixja, what's C16? thx.
On my old Subaru STI Spec C I made 270KW ATW on 98RON and 303KW ATW on C16, which shows you the difference.
It also costs around 2-3 quid per liter...

Re: RE: miltek exhaust
RS4Molar, what's the optimal A/F ratio for our RS4? I read 12.8-13.2:1 will give best / safe power for n/a engines but some say 14.7:1 is ideal. What's your take? In theory the optimal A/F ratio for maximum torque is 13.2:1. This is the air ratio that provides the most complete burn - any richer AF...

RE: louder
Exhausts normally quiet down in the first few weeks as carbon builds up in the system... I have downpipes + resonated non-valved system - for me the volume is perfect, it is quite a bit louder than stock but not excessive. I think non-resonated would detract from the image this type of car sets. One...

How much did your RS set you back roughly? Curious as I'm contemplating moving to NZ and wonder if it is better to ship my RS from the UK or try and find one when I get there. Nice pics BTW, titanium bits look smart on black. RS4 is expensive in New Zealand (any European car is) - they retail at $1...

E90 M3 Sedan Spotted
Surprised to see this sitting outside the main BMW dealership here in Auckland, New Zealand. Looks much better in person than I thought it would, still don't like the rear. I'd suggest the RS4 will probably be as fast or quicker than the M3 sedan - no CF roof and surely more weight with four doors. ...

My RS4
Received my new baby at the end of November 2007, now running at around 2500 miles... Great all round performance car, with downpipes, exhaust and remap the car really pulls hard and is so responsive right throughout the RPM range... Specification: Black Phantom 380mm Audi Ceramic Brakes (Front) Spo...

RE: Milltek Fitment Issues
The problem is that the right tip hangar is as far to the right as possible without coming off the rubber gromit. The bracket that holds the gromit is adjustable but is also as far to the right as possible.
I guess they could slot the bracket more so the gromit can be moved further to the right...

Milltek Fitment Issues
I had the 200cpi Milltek down pipes and resonated non-valved catback system installed just before XMAS. Noticed that the right tip was not quite centred in the rear panel recess, and intended to drop the car in to the exhaust shop after the holidays. During the holiday period, the right tip graduall...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: remaps - yet again
Most modern ECUs include a checksum that is calculated based upon the contents of the firmware image. Modifying just one bit of the firmware image will alter this checksum - detecting a remap is simple as comparing the current ECU checksum with the factory image ECU checksum. Not sure if this is the...
