Alastair When I first got my RS2 I was unsure of the accuracy of the computer readout, it was showing an average of 23mpg over about 20, 000 miles. So, for the first two months I kept every receipt for petrol and recorded the mileage between pitstops. I calculated that over this time it was as near ...

Car Storage Advice

Hi all. Looks like I need to store my RS2 and 911 Turbo for 2 years while I am working in Dubai. :( Anyone out there had any experience of these car storage companies ? What should I look out for ? Does the RS2 have any particular areas needing special attention. I am planning to have the engine sta...

Who wants a Dunlop SP 8000 tyre

Clearing out the garage and found a Dunlop SP 8000, 245/40/17, about 4-5mm thread.

Free to the first person who wants it, goes in the bin otherwise..

Might help someone out there...

Insurance Advice

Hi guys... Just got my renewal for the RS2, £650 with £350 excess for a daily driver. Is this a good deal for me, 39 years, no points, accidents, claims or convictions and full NCD ? (honnest !!) If anyone knows of a friendly insurance broker that can be recommended I would appreciate the phone numb...

David It is probably better to have a specialist look at the car, where do you live and would the seller take the car to you chosen inspector. The AA/RAC are more convenient and offer some guarantee. I have personal experience of this with my RS2, the AA gave it a clean bill of health but my special...

A bit inconclusive, I would have thought the fan should run on otherwise engine temp would continue to rise without the fan...

Has anyone had this problem and how did you manage to solve it ?

Thanks

Can you check this on your car ?

Just noticed that I don't have a fuse in my no. 5 fuse position. This is the one for the radiator fan run-on. Could one of you RS2 owners have a quick check and let me know if there should be one. Does your radiator fan run on for a few minutes after switching off the ignition when the engine is hot...

Well, my mechanic was right. The large earth wire had snapped in the grommet between the tailgate and the body, three other wires were dammaged. I think it was caused by the weight of the loom stretching the loom too tight. The loom to the tailgate comes from two multi pin connection blocks (one bla...

Thanke, Greg & Glyn. I agree about the earth problem, I will check them (If I can find them) I phoned my local specialist who told me it is likely to be broken wires in the top left corner of the tailgate, a common fault aparently. Makes sense, there is no power to the tailgate at all. Will have a f...

Electrical Gremlins Strike....

Hey guys, this is a weird one. Noticed that my rear wiper was not working today. Then I find that the reversing lights are also not working. Strange thing is that when I select reverse the lights in the rear fog light and heated rear window switches on the dashboard both flash on and off !! ...

Brakes

I believe I am correct when I say that the 968 discs you are looking at are the standard size, just drilled ? I have done this upgrade on my car recently and found the results a good improvement over the originals. You should note that the parts are usualy much cheaper from Porsche, cheaper still if...

I have been suffering from a loose horn pad on my 3 spoke steering wheel which contains the airbag. Driving me mad, mad the car feel so loose.... Had a look at it tonight and found that the frame that the hornpush is fixed to was loose. It seemed to be held by a large bolt at the 6o'clock position s...
