Well folks the good news is it is all fixed and back on the road. New welded section, had both flexi's done, work guaranteed for 3yrs by well know exhaust firm in/ nearr Reigate c£600 for both to be done. So i have been doing some research. Seems there is a company in Reigate whom have done this sort of thing before (firm called Mr Exhaust)- going to give them a try. Will keep you posted as to the outcome/ results

Ok latest update, the car is being repaired by insurance Co after i said i wanted the car back to take to another repair who had indicated a cheaper quote by some £2-3k. Made it pretty clear i thought they were trying to rip off the other parties insurance Co. But given what has been said above this...

Appreciate all the replies. Admiral are being very helpful willing g to take car to any garage. Insurance quote was done in Gloucestershire and all the garages I have used are in around London. E.g. rac automotive, Audi camberley. Evidently with higher labour rates than here in gloucestershire. That...

Ok Quick and dirty wife was shunted from behind, point of impact was passanger side rear, over exhaust. Car drove fine for the rest of jorney circa 30-40miles. Damage looked cosmetic. Namely a headlight dial switch (4B2 941 531 E)- couple of leds have died in my unit. Looked inside the switch barrel - looks far too fiddily to replace leds Is anyone on here aware of any rs6's at the breakers being stripped for parts.
