Yeah, I'm well, really nice to hear from the old timers again.
I no longer have an Audi, but wouldn't mind a meet up in Windsor like the old days!

Bet you haven't got one of these..!

Hello all, Long time no post and all that. I know how you guys like a bit of one-up manship and all that. I've just fitted something to my house that I'm fairly sure no one here has got - and that's saying something with the likes of people on here (money no object and all that) What is it? Well may...

Black S2 Avant

A friend is selling his S2, and wondered if anyone here might be interested.

It's black, in good condition (coupe) but has 200+ thousand on the clock.

He lives in the Bristol area (Yate) and has owned the car about a year.

If anyone is interested, then email me on dan@virginmobile.com

Cheers

RE: In need of a new battery - anyone fitted a lightweight o

Nige, I would say go for it as long as it fits in the tray and you aren't in the habit of sitting in the car for ages with the radio and lights etc... on as this is the only real reason for a big battery. Let's face it the RS4 has a massive alternator which will recharge the battery in no time, so a...

RE: Re: RE: Your all Torque...

300lbs/ft is near as damn it 400NM which is the torque of a standard B5 S4 - I always remember that and beacuse the numbers are quite nice it makes other calculations fairly intuitive.

yep,

that would decrease both frontal area and drag coefficient (Cd) would probably make a difference at near 200mph

You put it better than me Martyn. You are correct. To go back to my point, it would have been easy to make a 180mph car - relatively speaking of course!! 190 mph is much harder, and 200 much much harder still. I just wish I could find the old graphs I plotted, they show it quite clearly - but as Mar...

200mph is the magic number eh? A few mates and me looked at making a 200mph car a whle back, even with good aerodynamics the maths suggest that you need 550bhp at least for that type of speed, I didn't calculate for an RS6, but I'm sure with an RS4 (B5) you need near 600. I'd say with 450bhp, a drag...

Did an indicated 141 in my Cavvy Gsi 2000, when I was 21.
Have had much faster cars since then, but never been any faster.

RE: Where to jack up an RS4

good point Si, if you aint got no rubber , a bit of wood should ease the strain a bit.

fair play though, steel jack on steel car is always a recipe for disaster, even a dustsheet rolled up is better than nothing.

Not quite Dave. Remember that the earth strap has a small (but nevertheless important) resistance, therefore as ohm law states if a current is passed though it, there will be a voltage drop across it of some description - clearly as the current increases, so will the votage drop, so measuring the vo...
