I actually traded in an RS4 Avant against a Focus RS. Mile-for-mile the Focus has been more reliable and better put together. It has more toys, and is just as pratical. It is also faster over the same road as the RS4 due to its lower weight and more adjustable chassis. Even in the wet it finds more ...

Correct. I was never 100% happy with the suspension. It never felt sorted. New car is a counrty mile better. Even with the torquesteer, it is much more accurate, requires less correction mid-corner, and is more faithful. Plus I had a miriad of engine issues. The main issues being secondary vacuum so...

I've just traded the RS4 in for a Focus RS. Not a patch in terms of interior quality (mechanically it feels more sound!), but a complete riot to drive. Got a fully loaded RS, traded out of the RS4, walked away with cash, and got a new, 3 year warrenty, lower tax bracket, virtually as practical car. ...

RE: Re: RE: Only 255whp - I have a problem.

Question about the engine braking thing (I have just picked up my car after having a new short engine fitted and am in the 1000mile break-in period): Surely engine braking is worse in a lower gear? In 6th there would be less engine braking than in 3rd or 4th? Otherwise what would be the point of cha...

No idea. But my car was a demonstrator, sorry "Brand Managers" car, when I bought it, so god knows how it had been treated in the X-thousand miles before I recieved it.

Also in the process of having the engine replaced. In my case just a "short" engine. They have cleaned the heads by hand. This replacement was on the back of: a) me asking about coking of the valves and requesting an inspection whilst the manifolds were off to have some vacuum solenoids fixed b) run...

Chris Harris Video - Oversteer in the new S4

Worth a watch.

If this is the kind of direction that Audi is taking their cars, I for one can't wait for the new RS4 :)

Mine S light (top centre between dials) is Yellow! What I do find annoying is that the traction light flashes constantly when you switch it off the first level. It keeps catching my eye and I think I've left the indicators on... Sport ON when I'm on my own, and off when the wife is in the car, and b...

Won't be getting a new RS4 in that case them :(

But I can't see it myself. Why would you put Magnetic ride on the TTRS, RS6, R8 etc etc and then put an antiquated, fragile system like DRC on a newer RS4?? Doesn't make sense to me.
