The vibrant exhaust sounds awesome. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't it a 3" single pipe thus it will not bring about the same performance as a dual system? I was looking at the Vibrant but instead I just fitted one of these: http://www.autospeed.us/store.php?crn=208&rn=436&action=show_detail It s...

Take out the grills. This is the easy bit. I took the headlights out too, they look expensive to replace. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj172/spen0007/P1010087.jpg Take off the bumper. This is bit of a leap of faith as you have to rip it from the plastic "teeth" in front of each wheel arch. The...

Aidan, how'd you mount the SM-EGT sensor? Rather where did you mount it?

RE: Re: RE: Re: I hate cars..... One thing after another...
Right I now have blanking plugs. I can take the leaking pipe off and quickly bung the gearbox. Then I can either loop the pipes together with a bit of hose as suggested, or I can leave the blankinig plugs in and see what happens. I think it'll be fine. No one in their right mind would design a 'box ...

WOW. Camberley Audi called me back! The thread on the banjo bolts is M16x1.5.
VAG blanking plugs are £4.62.
Speedflow M16x1.5 blanking plugs are a bit cheaper - http://www.speedflowshop.co.uk/m16-x-15 ... -850-p.asp

I'm not saying they're not needed. I suspect it's to warm the oil up to reduce drag in the gearbox as well as cool it down should it get hotter than the water. For my requirements, today, which involves a leaking pipe, blanking the feeds is the best option. However, the stealer was singularly unhelp...

You can wrap the downpipes in situ I would imagine. Forget the manifolds! Engine out time.
People say about the power / exhaust gas energy. Seems far fetched to me. It definitely stops things nearby melting though!

Can anyone tell me the impact of disconnecting the gearbox oilcooler pipes and putting blanking plugs in place short term? Obviously the gearbox oil won't get cooled, but that is better than it leaking all over the place :( Will anything happen to the oil pump inside the gearbox? Is there ano...

I did this too. I also wrapped the manifolds where the oil feed crosses under. Inexpensive mod.
