Thanks! Will come in handy some day. Worthy of ascension to the FAQ sticky status? Dunno how frequently it's asked for but a good one all the same.

Rear bumper removal guide DIY

Excellent, came just in time as I dropped my car off for a repair to a dent from the previous owner.

Body Shop had never removed a RS4 rear bumper before so they were pleased when I showed up with a picture guide.

Thanks

Again this works really well on Iphone and probably Ipad too, just click link, select 'slideshow' and scroll through as required with captions appearing over images.

Does indeed. That's how I looked at it.

FYI The link in the first post is now dead so this guide is not as usefull as I imagine it once was :boohoo:
which is a shame for me as I have just done some light damage to my rear Avant bumper and it is not obviously how to remove it.

I found this on Google for an A4, probably very similar:

Re: Audi A4 saloon B7 Rear Bumper Removal
1. Slacked rear wheel nuts
2. Jack car up and remove wheels
3. Remove torx head screws inside wheel arch that hold rear bumper on
4. Now for the hardest bit. Open the boot.
5. Remove trim from left and right side of boot
6. Undo the 4 bolts
7. Place quilt / towel on floor
8. The bumper needs releasing from the rear wings. Do this by gently but firmly pulling outwards. The bumper will unclip.
9. Carefully remove the bumper from the car.
10. You will see that the rear bumper is marked where the factory fit parking sensor holes would be. Use a 2mm bit to drill a pilot hole then go through with the hole saw from the front.
