Adaptive light error

Hey All

I have just received an error on my adaptive light system, it started one day by the driver main dipped light not switching on and an bulb out warning, i switched off the car and restarted, driver main dipped light worked again but the adaptive system came up with an error.

Here is the error details:

Have any of you had this error?
According to the VAG site, when i serached for the error:
02234 - Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668)

02234 - Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668): No Signal/Communication

Possible Causes

Wiring from/to Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668) faulty
Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668) faulty

Possible Solutions

Check Wiring from/to Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668)
Check Right Headlight Power Output Stage (J668)


I checked all wiring, all seems fine, i ven unplugged the main cable to power up the light and plugged back in then checked the system but still the error pops up.

The fault frequency is 1, so try clearing it and seeing if it re-occurs.

If it doesn't then it was a glitch.

If it does then it sounds like a problem with the ballast/ignitor assembly on the RHS.

Cool thx PetrolDave, i have tried to clear the error but keeps coming back.

I am goin to a dealer tomorro for an oil change so i will get them to check it out as well.

I'm struck almost exactly the same issue - Did you resolve the problem?

my guess is the ballast has failed.
