Cleaning a F125 switch
Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
I just searched for the part number in Aliexpress there are plenty available. I think I paid 60£ for 2
Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
Sorry to drag an old post up. I've had a few Transmission Range Sensor (F125) errors come up recently so want to change the switch. I'm sure my switch has a round plug on it but the ones linked to in this thread appear to be square / oblong plugs. Are they 2 choices / part numbers? Tried to find pictures / part numbers on LLL parts to no avail.

Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
The RS6 has the rectangular connector with the rounded end, not the circular connector. Maybe check your plug again?

Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
I got a fairly cheap (under £40!) Chinese one recently for my D2 S8 (same unit) and it works fine. Part is 01V919821B.
Only issue, and this might be D2-specific, is that the Chinese ones invariably have a slightly shorter cable than OEM, not sure if that's a problem on the RS6 though, maybe just 4.2 D2s (3.7 is OK)?
My local VAG independent, who fitted it, managed to find a route for the shorter cable though.
I then found the same unit for about £25 delivered (from China) so bought a spare, you can never have too many F125s!

Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
Yeah, I've got 3 spares ones now.
The cable length was fine though.

Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
Thanks Guys, I'll check my connector and order one.

Re: Cleaning a F125 switch
As this post has come back to life I thought I would just add that I have been using my Chinese AliExpress switch since March 2022, and it still works perfectly. Like others, I bought another 2 to keep as spares, but as yet have not needed to go near them!

If you do decide to take the old one apart, which involves drilling out a few rivets, to fix it back together again you need:
M4 Button Head Allen Key Bolts With Nyloc Nuts and Washers in Stainless Steel. I found 16mm to be the ideal length. Can't recall if I used the washers though.
