Cut the nut!!

Even if you have to buy a Dremel just for the job, its a hell of a lot cheaper and easier that buying and fitting a new cooler.

Thanks once more all. It will be bumper off then when all the parts arrive and the dremel is fully charged. Great guide for the bumper removal i can see alot of 3m tape being used to cover body panels. Car currently on stands so will await the parts then plan the next steps. Without a doubt invaluable advice one again

Even though our cars are 18 to 21 years old now I cannot believe how difficult it is to get parts. Actually a bit of a disgrace in regard to Audi that a flagship model is unsupported with OEM parts as its not that old.

Evening all,

Parts from RS Carparts have arrived safe and sound from Phil via e-bay. Still a wee bit worried about cutting the nut from the cooler but will take my time!!!! and appreciate the post on bumper removal.
Will keep you all posted on progress.
I plan to put all the replacement pipes out and measure the exact sizes and will post with pictures should anyone wish to have some made by a a hydraulic specialist which may help others in the future.

A wee picture of when i had the two old girls. Unfortunately due to a house extension i could not keep the maintenance up on the S6 and gave her away to a guy who had admired her in passing. He got her an MOT and fixed a few jobs and has kept her going thankfullyv!!. Made sure he would not break her.

The S6 ticked all the boxes for using every day " apart from the fuel costs :)" . Still on the road with 200K+ on the clock

Can't remember the last time I saw a C5 S6. Possibly the last one was my mate's Noggy Blue one and that was 10 years ago.

3 hoses for oil cooler lengths. Will add the relevant part numbers to the photos. Just need to double check them. Maybe of some help to someone in the future.

Hello Gents

I have just removed my engine and noticed that the centre connector between the hardline and flexi on the oil filter to oil cooler had pretty much rotted away , took it to Pirteck in liverpool and £30 later they have replaced the centre connector. Both ends were OK, it was just the centre connector that was failing.

Will update as to how it goes back on when engine goes back in.
