Yes and no - The bad section can be chopped out and replaced with a 2-3in long rubber hose section "in-situ" but to replace the whole metal pipe with another OEM pipe needs a lot of work and parts removing so most people just opt for the "chop out and replace a section" fix instead which does just as good of a job.

The shorter pipe is no real problem. As Ian wrote, it's the longer pipe which is the issue - more specifically, it's where the far end of the pipe connects to the heater hose in the centre of the car. The only way to get to that with the engine in place is to remove all the breather hoses and a load of other stuff from around the back of the engine - after which you have to work blind in a very restricted space with only one hand and even if you have abnormally slim arms you will strip skin from your forearm.

The issue with the coolant pipes is that they aren't covered by the wheel arch liner, so they get sandblasted by road debris. I chopped that section and replaced with rubber that I wrapped. You can see the result here, not hard to do:
