Random question.
Were there any regional differences in spec for our cars?
For example, I remember from my veedub days that Japanese mkIV Golfs had different wing mirrors.

Re: different regional specs?
Yes. Some, although the RS6 was relatively homogenous compared to some models of the time. I'm thinking of the e46 m3 that didn't have VVT for the US market making it essentially no quicker than a 325i.
For the RS6, for example, US cars had non-Recaro memory seats.
US cars had Symphony instead of RNS-D and TV Tuner. Some EU cars, too.
They also had a spare wheel which meant the battery had to go in a box in the boot (only loons in the US) which massively reduced the useable volume.
Hot countries had additional coolant radiators.
Some EU countries had telematics. All defunct now.
Some settings differences based on countries, like driver-only door unlocking with the fob. Can be changed with coding.
I don't think any countries got more desirable equipment, compared to the UK.

Re: different regional specs?
N.America cars all had the Hot weather package with the extra radiators. Front Park Distance control was never available in the U.S. N.America cars all had the perforated/Drilled brake rotors, non drilled were never available, even from the dealers.
