Re: Drive train shunt
Ok will have a look. One thing I have noticed occasionally recently is when getting out of the car after a drive a quite strong petrol smell from the drivers side, near the filler cap, but maybe from underside somewhere. Didn't think it was related, but maybe..?
Re: Drive train shunt
Could be. You shouldn’t be smelling petrol.

Re: Drive train shunt
Could it even be the fuel filter?
Re: Drive train shunt
Could be. If it’s never been changed. I would think the problem would appear more consistently if it was due to poor flow though.

Re: Drive train shunt
Yes, I would be surprised if it was a fuel issue as it still goes like a stabbed rat, even when it's jolting, the jolts seem slightly worse when on throttle but not massively so. If it was fuel releated i would expect it to be much worse when on throttle. I will do checks around the pump and filter to see if there is a problem, would be good to get any leak fixed anyway. I am lean towards some.other driveline issue, maybe a cv joint or diff? It's very odd.
Re: Drive train shunt
Check around the fuel pressure regulator. That’s a potential point of failure.
