Gas filled boot struts

Post by steve2003rs6 » Mon Jan 16, 2023 12:26 pm

I noticed a fellow member recently replaced his gas filled boot struts.
So as mine were also rubbish I replaced mine yesterday. What a difference for 5 mins work.
Must be the easiest job on a RS6.

Yeah, I had to do mine a couple of years ago. It's amazing how heavy that boot lid is without lifting assistance.

Wondered if mine were knackered. I did notice it was a lot more effort to lift it.... but then I'm spoiled with a push button power lift on the other car

Yeah, I did wonder if I was getting weak, but when they give out completely opening the boot is like trying out for world's strongest man.

Think I might get mine done early then rather than waiting until they're properly knackered...

Yeah suz for about £28:00 well worth doing.

I could raise my boot fairly easily but when closing it went down far too harshly for my liking.
