New wheels and future plans..

Post by Jayjay101 » Wed Apr 27, 2022 8:19 pm

So got some 20” sportecs for mine had them Powdercoated black and really happy with them-there bloody light for he size of them and the ride is not as bad as my old 20” rs5 wheelsImage
Think I need to drop the front a little bit Image
I’m going to get some r888’s for them soon as I can find some in stock!

So over the last 4 months I’ve been having a garage built and the cars in and fits! Also means I can work on it and bring the paint back to really glossy
Image

So now I have plenty of room I’m going to make a 3” exhaust for it with black tips and valves

Also want to look into a custom rad for it as mines go the “j” code one so it’s big money for a new one and seeing as only coolant runs in it now due to my custom oil coolers, the rads fine just been nice to know I won’t have to worry about it

Then end of the year start of next think I’m going to pull the engine-this will be to fit my spare box that I’m going to get built soon with uprated clutch packs and baskets etc also there’s a company that makes all the hoses (vac-water-oil)on the engine in silicon now so I want to replace them too and it needs a cam belt at the end of the year plus I’m sure I’ll find a few more things I want to change! Ha!ha!

Good job I love this car!!!

Thanks mate it’s cost a fortune but I’m mega happy with it and being full insulated I don’t have to worry about my car/bikes rusting!

Think I’ll end up with one I can move about as the garage is a weird shape and it will make it hard to use Image
This was as it was being built but you get the idea on shape

Like Shop. I am very jealous of the garage.
When we moved house 12 years ago. I said to my wife that the only thing I cared about was that it had a garage for the rs6.
I got the garage. But I cannot access it due to the narrow drive at the side of the house.
Thought about approaching my neighbours to purchase three foot of land from them. But I reckon this is a non starter.
So my pride and joy is out in all weathers what a bummer.

My previous home had a huge double garage. Sadly yet again I couldn’t get the car down the narrow driveway.

Hopefully One day it will happen. Or I can continue to dream.

If you don't ask you don't get. Some developers seem to be incredibly thick when it comes to designing parking and turning and garage space.

Decent double garage is an essential. I basically bought the current house because the garage was decent. The drive up to it was done stupidly so once that was sorted out you could get two cars in and out easily rather than one of them being a fight.

Yes I know suz.
The front gates and the driveway into our current property was far to narrow.
I had about two inches each side of my door mirrors.
Then when exiting the car I had to stand in the flower border to get out. Which in wet weather wasn’t ideal.

First job when we moved in was to get the gates modified and add about 8 inches to each gate.
Then redesign the driveway and get it block paved.
It’s now so much easier to drive into the property and exit the car from each side without standing in mud.
When the car is now parked up I sleep about 6 foot away from it. Tracker connected to my phone and if it moves I certainly know about it.

I take your point “ if you don’t ask”
I will at some point.

Not enough dedication Steve, if you cant procure they neighbours land, take a section of the house away to get the RS past it :bigblink:

I also have a single garage and the eldest currently lives in that (S2 Escort RS Turbo) so the 6 is on the drive, i had plans to have a nice double garage built but the current house renovation is eating up all the savings so hopefully i can save more for it in future, doubtful at current living costs

I ended up with a 4 post ramp for my garage, comes with casters so you can move it about - use it more for parking but was not bad value considering. I could not find space for a double width garage at home so built it high and put the lift in. Handy and was cheaper than building it wider…
