TOP END SPEED!!

Post by Turbo Joe » Thu Feb 02, 2006 1:27 pm

What top end speed have you got out of your S4. I achieved 175mph and still had abit of rev left and the car was still pulling. I never knew the S4 B5 was such a beast and had so much potential!

I won't attempt speeds like that with standard brakes!

:jump: only reason to go that fast is to show scubby poo's what they are missing -

my "work car" a vw vento 2.0 gl hit 140 a few weeks ago, I thought that was quite impressive for a 12 year old car that cost £900. ;-)

170 on a German motorway, with still some go left, but the wife started to freak out a bit. Brakes (342mm Movit) were very effective at braking the car - speed was scrubbed off really quite rapidly.

Do we know what the car is geared to achieve in 6th gear?

Most remaps move the rev limit to 7200 and I think OEM mapping limits it to 7000 (although the rev counter shows 7200).

I had 185on the GPS in mine, 7070RPM in 6th gear and my limiter is 7100. Never managed to hit 7100 on K03s and it so pi$$ed me off. an RS4d S4 should hit 7100 all day long, I generally set the limiter at 7200 on RS4d S4s and 7100 on stock ones. Stock rev limiter is 6800...
