Re: Hand brake cables
Hi suz. Yes very weird. I will contact them tomorrow.
They were suitable the other day when I ordered them.
Today apparently not suitable?
We will see.

Suz. Yes mine is a 2003 saloon.
Just messaged parts in motion. See what they say when they respond.
Weib sech. Just wondering if there is a difference in length of cable between a saloon and a avant ?

Re: Hand brake cables
Parts in motion have just advised me that they are not compatible. Weird or what ?
Re: Hand brake cables
If I check with my reg it's still showing the BC3861 ones as compatible. They're the 1925mm.

Re: Hand brake cables
Hi suz. Yes I ordered the 1925 mm ones.
When I went online it said they were compatible.
So I ordered and paid for two.
Next day I got a full refund saying they were incompatible for my vehicle.
Messaged them this morning and they are insisting they are incompatible.
But if I go online it still says they are compatible.
Weird or what. I give up.

Just for info.
Re: Hand brake cables
Yeah. Because they’ve looked it up and it doesn’t fit RS6. But it’ll fit an A6. And they’re the same, no? I thought this had been established.
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Re: Hand brake cables
Reckon I will just order the two cables.
We are not talking a great deal of money here so we’ll worth the risk.
I say risk ? Other members have had these installed so hardly a risk.

Recommend following srichards guidance since he’s tried it and it worked
Those compatibility lists are a guide only. They’re not bad, but they are not exhaustive. (I once worked with a guy whose job it was to create those lists for bulldozers. If he wasn’t sure and couldn’t check he said not compatible, better safe than sorry when you’re shipping round the world!)
