Instrument cluster button corrosion

Post by AndyMacRS4 » Sat Jul 31, 2021 8:08 pm

Hi all!

New to the group and really enjoying my 06 RS4 Avant.

Managed to get the car for a good price but does unfortunately have some signs of wear and tear.

Has anyone seen this type of corrosion before on the instrument cluster buttons?

Is it possible to remove and replace these buttons without a whole new cluster?

TIA

Andy

Those should be interchangeable with another b6/b7 cluster. Looks like someone has touched them with some corrosive substance. I was unfortunate to do similar in another Audi. On the head unit buttons . Was eating chips and the oily residue caused the buttons I touched to blister and flake off .
