**I think end of an era - after 14yrs off ownership
HI All
This has been a fantastic forum and thank you for all the advice.
Unfortuately i think i will be reluctantly parting with my RS6 , main reason is the exhaust flexi hose has perished and the quote i have to fix is shall we say not worth the grief.
So if anyone wants a project - my car is as follows:-
I have owned the car since 2006/7, always been services either Audi or good independent, running on Gen 3 DRC and all in good order - Audi recent replaced one of the drc lines.
Car has c.155k miles ( I bought it at 28k). Mugello blue with natural black leather ( dont see many with that leather) and carbon fibre inlays.
It has RNS E fully working, integrated bluetooth module and has a rapsody hard drive in the boot so the rear monitors can play movies.
Car is totally stock/ standard - Comes with roof rack, 4 winter tyres and alloys, a pair of new perforated front brake discs (in boxes still) and 4 new tyres have just been installed.
Just had cambelts done in the last 12mths, currently being serviced and having sparks etc done.
Main issue as mentioned is 1 of the exhaust flexi is starting to go , unless you have any suggestions as a fix it?
Anyhow I am on hughesjrt@btinternet.com if anyone is interested in the car etc.

One of the chaps replaced the flex by dropping the rear of the subframe a bit and cutting and welding a flexi in-situ I think.

So i have been doing some research. Seems there is a company in Reigate whom have done this sort of thing before (firm called Mr Exhaust)- going to give them a try. Will keep you posted as to the outcome/ results

Had both my flexis cut out and replaced by a local company up here in Glasgow a year ago C&C custom exhausts cost £200 supplied and fitted although not much use to you being so far away , just thought I would let you know it is possible to replace them in situ without removing engine , you could look for exhaust specialist in your area. Good luck

I agree my exhaust flexi was in a sad state and I couldnt believe it was such a big job. I ended up getting them done in situ by exhaust a fix in Darlington for £250 took about 3 hours and they just welded a new section in. It looks like youve kept yours in good condition so dont get rid of it just because of this. Ive had mine 11 years now and dont want to part with it.

Well folks the good news is it is all fixed and back on the road.
New welded section, had both flexi's done, work guaranteed for 3yrs by well know exhaust firm in/ nearr Reigate c£600 for both to be done. Very please to keep the motor on the road.... as alternative cars are few and far between for the bang per buck.
As always appreciate the knowledge and guidance on here.

Nice one and well done keeping it on the road.
As you say there are not many alternatives for the money.

Great news ! Glad you got it all sorted and the end result was what you wanted
I think if you can find decent places that don't want to add RS tax, these cars are not as massively expensive to run as once thought. Still not cheap, by any means, but for example everywhere I rang for a Cambelt and a service was £2.5k roughly. Where I eventually took it, they quoted nearly a grand less !
