Alternative to 600W rad fan?

Part no. 4B3 959 455F, the large rad fan is NLA from Audi as of September last year. Even if it was available the price would be £995 + Vat

Anyone know of a viable alternative as it sounds like the bearing is shot on mine? It does seem as though it's RS6 specific unfortunately....

Also, can anyone advise on "normal" fan operation? Can't recall the smaller 300W fan ever working; maybe the large one has been doing all the donkey work & worn itself out. Seems like the 600W kicks in when the AC compressor is active so I'm running with the ECON button pressed to try & avoid the fan launching into a low orbit.

If you can get it apart you should be able to rebuild it.

It’ll be a PWM signal from the controller so you could probably fabricate something with a similar fan.

Measure the size of the fan diameter and order after market. Make up some bracket and should be good to go.
As Shop said will be pulse width modulated (on and off duration gives desired speed) so any modern pull style fan “should” work.

Hella make fans. I'd think something of theirs would do. I'm sure I found one of the aircon fans was made by them.

Have you looked on Audi tradition site. Lots of fans for the c5 RS6 in the electrical section.
Came across them today while I was looking for something else.

The part number fits, but not clear by the photo whether this is the 360mm 600w or the 280mm 300w fan. But for the price it's worth asking the vendor for more details:
