OMG sweegie your a saint. Cluster replaced and re coded remotely. All working and correct milage.
The replacement cluster was sold to me as in perfect working order. Not the case.

Will fit the replacement facia to my original cluster and live with the faded pixels for a while.
Sweegie you are a star. Thank you thank you and thank you.
Regards Steve.

What’s the issue with the replacement cluster?

Also much forum love to Sweegie for helping out a fellow RS6er.

Echo the above. Sweegie is amasing. I was watching my computer while he was doing his stuff. And I still could not keep up with him.
Totally dumbstruck with his awesome expertise.
Sweegie do you want a 66 year old apprentice who will work for free ?
Even more astonishing when I asked him how much I owe him. Response was buy me a beer sometime. I think a keg is more appropriate.
I was told that the replacement cluster was in perfect working order including the pixels on dis system.
Current problems
No back lighting
Faded pixels
When switching the ignition on or off the speedo fluctuates at o mph.
Will Now take the opportunity to send the original cluster away for a new screen. When I get it back will swop the front facia over before installing it back into the car.
And I can use the car while the cluster is away for repair.
At least I will have the look I was after and a fully working cluster.
Hands cut to pieces getting the 3 plugs in and out at the back of the cluster. Very little extra cable to allow you to manoeuvre the cluster and get to the plugs.
The members on this site never fail to amaze me. Thank you all

All done and original sent to cartronix for a new dis display panel.
Out for a drive today and noticed the dis display on the replacement cluster is functioning perfectly . How weird !

I love it. But if I get fed up with it the original can go back in.

Don’t know what’s going on with the pixels on the replacement cluster.
Wednesday fitted cluster faded pixels
Thursday pixels ok
Friday faded pixels.
Makes me wonder if I have a bad connection somewhere.
Get my original cluster back in a few days. See what that’s like with a brand new lcd screen.

My issue occurs when the ambient temperature is high.

Hi Chris. No not that. Was in the car all day yesterday and it was all ok. This was from initial startup this morning.
Totally weird.
All good fun.

Original cluster collected this morning. Cartronix are charging £120:00 for the new screen. Must be very good quality. As they guarantee it for as long as you have the car.
Itching to get it back and installed.

£120 including pick up, delivery, parts and labour? That sounds very reasonable. 😎

Chris. Not the pickup. That cost me £15:00 with DRP On top of the £120:00.
