Random Coolant and internal heater issue >>

Hi guys ,

Hope everyone's very well. Random one, My coolant light has been saying "turn engine off check coolant" when this happens it is about a inch below minimum requirment. And again random when it decides to do it. The fix is - Turn the car back on give it some revs. The coolant fills back up to the prefect mark. Go figure! (I assume pressure related at this point) as also when I take the fill cap off again the level increases.

Anyway now the heat in the car cockpit is at best Luke warm,sometimes cold .. I have assumed this is linked. The car was dropping some coolant in December very little and Audi told me they tested it but can not find a leak or fault

The 2 release values in the media attached could some kind person explain to me what there job is. Obviously under pressed on both lines labed 1 & 2 .

They are the AC charge points so nothing to do with the coolant. Some coolant is being lost somewhere but tracing it can be a pain as a lot of lines run in near impossible to see or reach areas. With your coolant topped off you should still be getting heat in the cabin unless you have an airlock as well. If you coolant is brownish and far from pinky/purple then your heater matrix could be clogged then thats a ballache

Coolant back full won't produce heat in the cabin . No brownish colour at all .

As mentioned above, it sounds like an airlock to me.
Had something similar on an old car after replacing the coolant.
Did Audi flush the coolant when they had a look? If not and its under warranty, I'd ask them to do this.

Hi Mike,

Defo air related . Today re filled the system left the top off and the internal heat has returned. Is has dropped some coolant but this happened in December and Audi told me nothing wrong . My local Audi are horrendous not going to use again .

Must have a coolant drain in the past and not refilled correctly. Audi's need the system to be vacuumed and then filled so the vacuum draws the new coolant in.
