New tyres
New tyres
I know it's been done to death but my original Dunlops are now due for changing, I've done pretty well considering the car has covered almost 19000 miles, put it down to very wet Devon weather and driving skill akin to Jensen Button when it comes to looking after the tyres!
Anyway, been quoted £260 fitted for Michelins, I won't go Pirelli and fancy a change from the Dunlops but they have been decent and obviously wear well. Should I be considering any other brand boys?

Mich PS4S all the way. Personally have 295 rather than 285 (which weren't available when I did mine) and love them.

Re: New tyres
The Michelins are great tyres, but you get far more NVH on motorways (particularly the concrete section of M25) than with the foam lined “silent” OE types.
Re: New tyres
295 tires you can put on on 21 inch rims without any rubbing?
Re: New tyres
I’m not trying to be controversial, however I’ve noticed that user experiences and perceptions of the Pirelli P Zero tyres are not great.
Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion(s), but the latest R01 P Zeros do have a wet weather rating of ‘A’ which is better than all the alternatives - including the Michelins.
Whilst there are flaws with the controlled tests that tyres (or any consumer product) are put through - there does seem to be a significant disconnect between the actual performance of the Pirellis and their controlled test results.
Or is wet weather braking only one facet of a tyre’s behaviour and it is the grip level when dry that is poor, hence their reputation?
