Back in the fold !

Post by mikeyw » Wed Oct 16, 2019 12:03 am

Very happy to be back in a lovely RS6 PE after a bit of a forced hiatus - have certainly missed the old beast and whilst I enjoyed my foray into performance SUV land, I decided I was really a supercar estate bloke after all!!

Not quite my perfect spec but was close enough and from the right place with a good deal for it to all work out.

Can’t wait to drive it some more and to get the 2 dogs in it that didn’t really fit in the suv!

Car play firmware added - agree it’s not as easy without a touch screen but it’s usable

Welcome back Mikeyw!

Glad you got sorted in the end! Is this the White one that you looked at a while back or is it Suzuka? Either way looks smart!

Cheers Lig.

Its the Glacier white one that I was looking at a few weeks ago - de-badged and looks I think nicely under stated although I guess its hard to disguise an RS6 really, but it helps me sleep a little better at night!

Liking the full leather interior, and just getting re-used to all the controls and set up. Its got Dynamic Plus so I need to drill into that as I only had ceramics on the last one.... Just loving the smooth delivery of power, the sound track and being back lower down in a car rather than an SUV. Steering is light in comfort mode so need to have a play with the settings.

Its dirty already which is the issue with white, so i'll have to keep on top of that as it looks great when clean, but round here with the roads and the orange ironstone mud, thats going to be a challenge!!

Nice one Mike!

So your old one had the air suspension but with Ceramic brake option?

I love the DRC and think it suits the car better than air IMHO, although in Dynamic it is a rough ride - but I like this too! I find Auto is a perfect balance for everyday, Dynamic when I fancy a blast! But great to play around with the settings....

Keep it clean!

Cheers,
Lig.

Actually no, the old one has DRC of course (doh!!) - but I dont recall it have dynamic plus on the spec - but isnt that what Dynamic Plus actually is - DRC and Ceramics ?! maybe as the previous was 2016 there was no 'pack' just options you added on.....funny but I dont recall any reference to steering changes on the 2016 one.

Dealer was Cheltenham Audi - like the guys there, they have looked after me well and its where my last one came from.

Congrats!

Dynamic pack plus has always been available but it was DRC, ceramics, dynamic steering and top speed increase to 189mph.
Its possible the first owner of your previous car wanted DRC and ceramics but not dynamic steering.

Yes imagine you are right - will have a play with customising the settings - i'm sure i've read that comfort for the steering seems to be the popular choice....

I think so - I like to use Waze, so having that on the main screen is great. Its not as user friendly having to use the wheel to navigate around the buttons, so a touch screen is really what you need, but its a decent compromise I think. Having access to the other app's too is good so i'm pretty happy with it. Might be a bit pricey at £300, and I know others have gone for a non audi unlock but I was happier with the dealer sorting it, especially if it ever goes wrong!!
