Brakes again

Post by johnny11 » Sun Aug 18, 2019 11:47 am

It’s amazing how much you can save if you do a little checking, I need front and rear pads and discs, this is the quote I got from my annual inspection.
I have sourced and bought brand new discs all round from other dealers direct so are all original, but of course they will not fit these as they didn’t supply.
So am using my local independent to fit these and they are supplying original pads all round. The total cost including the discs pads and fitting is £1528 that is around £1k saving!!! Don’t get get me wrong I know these cars are not the cheapest to run but £1k Saving from £2.5k in my books is huge saving, especially when fitting these need very little labour.

Johnny, you are in Surrey. FYI for next time, I use Audi Guildford, who were very happy to fit brake discs and pads that I supplied. Even better, as I could only source the front axle items for myself and I needed all four corners done, they matched the cheapest online price that I could find (Audi Crewe at the time) for the rear axle bits.

Hi Johnny,

That really is a great saving. I was quoted similar to you from my local dealer. I then contacted Crewe and they came back with a similar price...

Which dealer did you source the parts from?

Cheers,
Lig.

I got the front from Cardiff Audi a few months ago, give Phil an email on audipartsdirect@monmotors.com from Cardiff Audi and see what he can offer you. The rears I got from I think was Mk Audi but was a bargain at £333, but got them from their eBay Shop,
