bmc carbon airbox...

Post by andy123 » Tue Jan 03, 2006 2:05 pm

has anyone tried a BMC carbon airbox on there s4. Rather then cutting my motor to bits or drilling my airbox to resemble a lump of swiss cheese im just looking for a bit of bolt on goodness that isnt going to sound to loud and will give some gains!

Andy, you must still have a soft spot for tinny japaese cars, as the link requires a login!

Nige.

p.s. do a search for the BMC airbox on here or AW - the results aren't impressive. The air intake on the S4 is not a weak point. Spend your money on a set of downpipes and a remap if you want more horses, or suspension upgrades if you want better handling.

one thing for you nige.......

:<beep>_you:

theres nothing wrong with jap stuff, dont knock it till you tried it. It does feel a bit lightweight compared to audis/beemers etc but at the same time jap cars give a lot less grief (recalls, genral breaking etc). And besides, my old pulsar would tear most s4s a new un. Imagine that, getting hammered by a 400bhp sunny

i do love my s4 tho!

i for one have had no probs with BMC CDA. cant say it made a significant diff but it does seem to work well. fitting was slightly tricky, had to have a custom carbon duct made. pls see pic
