Thanks Chaps,
That puts my mind at ease.....
MikeFish - 22mpg sounds low doesn't it?
Cheers,
Lig.
Sounds about right. All "A" road stuff for me though.
I had, RS6, S7 and RS7 (all more or less the same engine) all high teens slipping into low 20s when driving slow and steady. You will get fed up trying to keep it above 20 lol

Morning chaps....
So my mpg measurement was with the car in the Auto setting, the whole journey and yes with stop\start switched off - Q - Is there anyway to permanently switch this off? OR do you just have to switch it off for each journey???. I am still experimenting, but so far I like the Auto setting. I found myself just tapping the lever backwards to put it into 'Sport' mode when overtaking or approaching a roundabout... I Didn't use the paddle shifts, but never really used them on my C5, I don't really see the point with 8 speed?!
Its just so easy to forget you have all that power at your disposal, sat there in royal comfort, quietly tootling along and then you put it in 'S' mode and let the horses loose - flippin' brilliant!!

I get 33mpg - on Mway run (when it settles into 4 cyclinder)s. The combined overall mpg over 40k miles is 23mpg - which is far better than i was mentally prepared for when I bought the car!

Hi ab54666,
I think you need to put it in 'Auto' or 'Comfort' on your next long run, 80mph max, steady throttle, try and refrain from giving it any beans, and you should see 30mpg +.
For my run (at the start of this thread), I did give it some beans out of roundabouts and slip roads and got just over 30, so I don't doubt the 33mpg quoted as I am sure I could get this without the 'beans' moments....
Cheers,
Lig.

I purchased mine with 5K miles, now 20K.
The average when I purchased it was 19MPG and now its 20MPG.
30MPG is optimistic IMO, if I jump on a steady motorway or major A road run (fairly often) and I am forced to drive sedately then I will get 27MPG. I have a heavy foot and so regular A and B road driving on a typical tank I would realise a consistent 18MPG.

It gets driven in comfort mode on the motorway - It's my 2nd RS6 and the first one was just as good, if not better on economy on a run.
Drive it everywhere in dynamic and you become on first name terms with the petrol pump attendant at Tescos

And you have to live with the chavvy exhaust noise. That wore thin quickly.

My figures were with a full tank of V-Power, covered 397 miles on a full tank then filled up when I got back £90.38.... works out at 27.93mpg BUT the display showed 30.1. I put this down to the fact that I covered 10 miles of sprinted driving after I filled up the day before I commenced my journey. So reset the odometer the following morning or maybe the display is a bit optimistic....
Cheers,
Lig.

I'm guessing you don't have a Millie on yours then

or worse you've gone to the dark side and swapped it for a Tesla.
