Extended warranty quotes year 5

Odd. I’m not the first owner but got sensible prices online very close to 3 year warranty running out and same again at renewal

Something dry weird just happened:

I called Audi Customer services to find out why I’d not received any correspondence related to the imminent expiry of my warranty - they explained that, because the car currently has an Audi approved used warranty, they don’t actually have authorisation to send me marketing information for the approved warranty, due to GDPR.

Hmm, ok.

So I go back onto the website, to purchase my policy, and suddenly the prices seem much lower than before - all cover (<10k miles p.a., £250xs is ‘only’ £680, with £0xs it’s £1,020.

I’m sure it was double that when I looked before.

One thing I didn’t check - do I need to take out separate breakdown cover, or is this included?

That is what I paid. Maybe they quoted you a sensible amount as you had been in touch. No Roadside assistance if that is what you mean. Shop around or consider a bank account that gives you cover?

Just had my Audi approved warranty renewal email through this morning. My first year was £1292 all component. My renewal for the same cover is now £680.
Assume it’s lower due to no claims?

Sorry to say but I think you paid too much year 4. Audi seems to quote about 2x on the web. Quoted me approx £1300 for year 5 via web but emailed an offer at £680. Don't know why they do this.

Does anyone know if you get a reduced cost if you have an approved used warranty that is due to expire? Or do you need to renew online?

In my and others case Audi wrote to me a month before offering an extension at half the online quoted cost

I got this in an email on 30th Jan for a policy ending 28th Feb:

Your Audi Extended Warranty cover for vehicle xxxxxxx is due for renewal on 28/02/2019.

Would the premium have come down if you’d made a claim, or is it only lowered after a claim less year?

It was £680 first year (post MOT) and same in the second (fifth) year. I think you should have been charged £680 in your first year.

Didn’t claim so don’t know what that might have done to year two
