Is there a premium for ceramics?

Post by matt-jones » Tue Apr 23, 2019 10:34 pm

Question for the knowledgeable, what would an average price premium be for a B7 RS with ceramics vs one without? Or is there no premium as the costs put people off? I can't find much in the way of adverts and nothing currently available so it's difficult to benchmark.

I’m a long time out of the market, but ceramics have significant value. You’ll probably find plenty of people happy to swap their disks and callipers plus say £1k (min) for a good set of ceramics, so a car with them (in good order) should definitely be priced at at least a £1k premium, and probably upwards of £1.5k. They were a £4,235 option when new, and I couldn't quite justify it!
