Squealing Brakes Under Light Braking

Post by Flighty » Sat Apr 06, 2019 12:31 pm

So I successfully managed to replace the rear pads myself using the Carista app to back off the handbrake, I followed the Audi replacement instructions to the letter and I also installed Brembo pads.

Under light braking eg. Driving around town, I am getting this frustrating faint squeal... that is driving me insane.

A good hard brake seems to clear it for a few miles but then it returns after light braking...

Anyone had this and got any tips to resolve?

Once you have some even pad wear across entire disc, it should dissipate Image

They shouldn’t need copper grease as far as I am aware as the Brembo pads have a anti vibration backing!

I did add a thin film onto the tangs of the pad that run through the calliper.

There is a topic on exactly the same issues of brake squeal on the B9 forum.
