Looking for advice on a purchase rs4 b7

Post by Markymark1971 » Wed Feb 06, 2019 2:38 pm

I’m in a bit of a dilemma
What’s your opinion on being the 10th owner of a low miler
Most big ticket jobs have been addressed
And the car looks mint
It’s just the high amount of owners is slightly putting me off
Would you or wouldn’t you

How low on the miles?

My theory is a car is looked after the best in the first year or so of ownership, so 10 owners is no issue.

Others may disagree.

I would t worry about owners. My M3 had 10 previous owners and didn’t bother me. Most folk will either want one to say they’ve had one or get one and realise they can’t afford it.

Have you got a link?

Cheers

It’s all subjective really, same for low/higher mileage cars etc.

Totally different cars obviously, but if you look at similar age Fezza’s etc they can quite easily have lots of owners. They are bucket list cars, some people want to own them, scratch the itch and move on to another from their list.

For a 10+ year old car, my number one priority would be how it’s been maintained.

I suppose it would all depend on if the next buyer seen it as a problem. The next person might not have an issue with number of owners but might not like that it’s been used as a daily and not a weekend toy.

My point is, resale can be affected by so many variables and I wouldn’t worry about it, if it’s the right one for you, but it and worry about it later.
