Yeah. I've bought discs from Crewe that would have 2 year warranty if fitted by Audi. But I've bought different pads and braided lines and wasn't getting taken to the cleaners for fitting.MK2Golf24v wrote:I suggest you read and understand the terms of the 3yr warranty. So still have the Audi 2yr parts warranty on those items, getting me to the 5yr mark. After that, I'll do the major component warranty version, with a small excess to keep the premium sensible. The full component price is a joke, but circa £15k for a gearbox fitted sows the seed of doubt.
With the warranties, READ the small print, the Audi extended cover is <beep>!
I find it hard to argue with that.Surrey Sam wrote:Oh...sorry about that. Trust me, I have been around the 'what would I replace it with' soooooo many times, whilst driving dealer provided diesels. Nothing competes, the closest I got was a C63 S coupe as that looks butch, the 4dr and Estate look week though and it was a bit too chintzy for me.

I've had that battle before with the B7 generation. One replacement within the 2 year parts warranty and thereafter, you're on your own was their line.MK2Golf24v wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:57 pmI suggest you read and understand the terms of the 3yr warranty. I get the same quotes Sam. But it reads like that I'll hopefully get an email offering cover as an extension from year 4 at the same (half) price as those quoted on the web.Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:45 pmJust grabbed an Audi quote for me, 2014 car, 34k miles, less than 10k miles per annum.
Full component with £0 excess = Over £2k
Full component with £250 excess = £1292
Named component with £0 excess = £1415
Named component with £250 excess = £919
I had the B9 S4 Avant.Grittle wrote:I get the same quotes Sam. My warranty has just over a month to go, so hopefully Audi will write to me in the next week or so as I get within a month of it expiring
I'll pay £660 but not £1300. Undecided if I'll keep the car. Thoughts on 'downgrading' to a B9 S4 anybody?. I was thinking Golf Gti and 911 as an alternative plan
