I was the opposite on the continentals today. Car didn't feel nearly as planted as the old girl, was a bit squirmy and broke traction a couple of times.

My usual guys aligned her last week, but being perfectly honest I felt she came out feeling worse, which is unusual. I am now actually considering running winters tyres just to see the difference....

I have the Dunlops and find them very good, so interesting to hear others dislike them.

After being spoiled by having both a summer and winter set of wheels on the porker, I bit the bullet and just bought a set of Continental WinterContact TS 860 S in 295/30 R21 102 V XL.

I am going to get the local alloy wheel straightening specialist to take all wheels off, check that they are all 100% true, then fit and balance the new rubber for me one time.

Come spring etc. I will buy a set of PS4S in 295/30 flavour too and swap across to those.

Has anyone spaffed their load on the Beissbarth alignment service that MRC offer? IIf memory serves, it sure as sh!t ain't cheaps, but she will be up there the week after next, so I am tempted to tell them to have at her.

Tried Continental, they came stock with my 6. Was surprisingly good.

Then changed to P Zero, <beep> big mistake. Too hard. Skipping all the time.

Now on 2nd set of PSS. Best of all 3.

Too bad PS4S doesn't come in 285/30/21. Otherwise I would give it a go.

They come in 295/30 which fit the rims just fine. I added a 5mm spacer to the set up to keep the inside clearances the same and they fill the arches a wee bit better too.

Effect on speedo is very small, but actually corrects the small under estimate inherent in the system so now 70mph on the speedo is actually 70mph on my GPS too!

Win all round :rocker:

Doesn't the digital display over read now though? I've noticed the digital display is normally spot on and only the analogue dial has any error.

It's only 1% different, less than the difference caused by normal tyre wear.

Yep - the reading is now spot on at 90 (on a private road, naturally).
