I truly would be surprised if it beats the CSL on track or around the ring...I just can't see it...it's far too heavy!

I personally loved the sound of it..... something almost NASCAR about it but being german sounds a million times better....Very jealous if those of you who are on the waiting list!

Definately. The S4 vs M3, RS4 vs CSL and the RS4 would probably still win. The RS4 is the fast Audi that they they should always have made, they should make it the S4 and bring out a stripped out, race'd up version to go head to head against the CSL...if subaru and Mitshubishi can turn a can of beans into a fast car for £20k then I'm sure Audi can find somehting in their arsenal to beat BMW..>!
Yes they could have done that, costing a lot of R&D money and only selling a few cars to rich petrolheads. Instead they have followed a sensible strategy of making money and keeping the shareholders happy. Face it - the S4 didn't really cost that much to develop but it is sold at a hell of a premium. It also does not really compete against the M3 because it is a different market (4-door saloon rather than 2-door coupe). Very sensible because the 2-door coupe market is already saturated.

One thing is true though, unless Audi limit quantities of the RS4 (are they?), it must hurt sales of the S4. For only 10K more (or whatever it is), the RS4 is a hell of a better car than the S4, and will probably have better residuals.

If only I had more disposable income...:(

I've emailed TOP GEAR to ask if they will show the lap time! Not that they'll listen to me though  . Dissapointing that they didn't show it, but I personally really liked the review. Maybe if we all email they might just listen.

I thought the review on Top Gear, whilst a bit pointless, was done quite well !!

Well enough to make me order one anyways !!
