If it comes up again for sale we should inundate them with spam - or offer £3k for it 😉

Plus ask them for proof of getting the head gaskets done as we know previous owner "blew" them ;)

BTW - that is a bummer. I thought that was just internet legend.

That's a kick in the teeth. I caught a couple of lads trying it on my a year or so ago. Although they were far less convincing about it. They had obviously read about it online and thought they could pull it off. But the routine was less polished than some of the stories I have heard. One cornered me behind the car asking questions which the other one was poking around under the bonnet. When I cottoned on that something wasn't right I hurried round there and found him fumbling trying to reattach a breather that he had taken off in the attempt to pour a little hotel shampoo bottle full of oil in there. If they hadn't been so obvious about it I probably would have fallen for it to be honest.

If it is up for sale again then I'm sure a couple of members on here wouldn't mind helping you out. You could pull the same trick on them and say oh looks like you haven't repaired it after all....

It’ll end up abroad no doubt, there aren’t many out there and we’re a fairly small community of fans. It doesn’t strike me as the best candidate for this scam if they intend to sell on over here for a quick buck

Have action fraud said anything about it? Is there anything that can be done through them?

Alternatively, supersoaker and brake fluid

Action Fraud are basically a fraud themselves !!

Totally useless !!
I gave them complete email records of a purchase I made that was almost 4figures that the guy subsequently resold a second time while I was in hospital, I gave them all his details, proof of payments, bank details etc but they didnt bother doing a thing other than a "crime number" which is useless.

Sorry to hear your loss, but agree theres not much youre gonna get from a bunch of Liths who dont wanna play fair.

I'm sorry but I couldn't sit back and let this happen to me, I'd be straight round there with a van load of guys demanding my extra money, or the car back. The bare-faced cheek of these w@nkers infuriates me.

Where is Ard-bob when you need him most!!!!!!

Can't the police do anything?
