Roll bars

Post by Turbo_scotty » Wed Apr 04, 2018 9:07 pm

Been trying to find out what’s the best option for my b7 saloon I’ve currently got kwv3 Coilovers fitted and just thought they could do with some help with controlling the body roll

So do I buy H&r front and rears or 034 rear and leave the front alone

Car will do a few track days this year and prob 3/4 more trips to the ring 1 already completed 👌

H&R front and rear. Set both to stiff. Get the geo done and corner balanced.

I just went for 034 rear. I think the general thought is uprating both could increase understeer.
The 034 has made a world of difference.

^ no chance of understeer with both bars. If you’re aggressive with the throttle you can get oversteer quite easily, but otherwise it’s very neutral. The front OE bar is the same thickness on the B6 A4 SE throughout the range and chassis facelift right through to the B7 RS4. The front upgrade helps and I would rather do both together, but just doing the rear only will indeed help.

I do hear that the ‘even thicker’ rear bars such as the 034 and Hotchkis bars, snap rear drop links. Just as uprated rears did on the B5’s, but then the B5’s were plastic!!
