Hi guys
Recently had my b7 rs4s engine rebuilt due to cracked headers. Approx 200 miles later engine light has come on and shown the code to the photo attached.
It's been a difference of opinion to either tune out of the maf sensor or replace it altogether. However will replacing the maf sensor allow the engine light to do away?
Would appreciate any help because I've been pulling my hair out over this.
Car runs pretty normal apart from hiccups here and there and revs limited to 7k

First.. how did you crack the headers?
Second, why did cracked headers lead to a rebuilt engine? And what exactly do you mean by that anyway?
3rd, why code out a sensor (assuming that’s even possible) that your engine uses to run more efficiently, when you can replace it for $200 max?
Your MAF can throw codes and cause issues even if it’s functioning properly. What is your intake setup? Filter setup?

haha this ones turned into a bit of a nugget and im not the most mechanically minded but I'll do my best
its a Category C which means it was crashed and repaired in the UK. Within 3-4 months of me owning it coolant warning came on. Took it to a garage the initial problem was diagnosed as the main oil cooler. Replaced but still having issues. Diagnosed and it was the headers cracked and with the manifold it was leaking oil into the coolant tank. This is all as far as I can remember.
That being all done the issue of oil leaking into the coolant tank was resolved. But now this error has cropped up.
As for why that's what I've been told would be the cheapest easiest method to rid of the engine light issue. Intake and filter will be stock as is. Only mod to this car is that its straight through pipes with no mufflers. Not sure if that affects any of it however

I presume you mean cracked cylinder head rather than headers (which some people use as a term for exhaust manifolds).
If you’re losing top end power, I’d definitely replace the MAF. A relatively simple & inexpensive repair to rule out other problems.
