New to RS246

Hello All,

I've just registered with RS246, after a friend recommended it.

I've recently got myself a fantastic S3 ! Its a 1 owner from new car and the previous owner has looked after it so well. The car is a 2000 so is pre face lift.

Does any one know if you can simply change the lights over to the later style? I know its no problem with the back ones but how about the headlights?

I was told by a guy on the Audi-sport.net stand at castle coombe that the wings are different so it can not be done?!

I didn't think there were any changes to the front at all, or wings for that matter but I've been wrong before

It can be done, but you'll have to take a hacksaw to the wing. The pre-facelift models have a metal lip which allows the light to sit flush against.

No idea on the wiring however.

Yeah, hard to spot but its obvious when you know.... early models have the headlight and indicator as separate units where the later models were all as one.....

I would imagine it would be more hassle finding a set of newer lights! New I would imagine wouldnt be cheap....
BTW were the later S3 lights different to the later A4's..... ie with the Xenon's I know the Xenons ofn the R32's were fitted on R32's only..
