This so called meet will run as follows:

Ringring - HI is that Matt?
Yeah
It's Bam bam from rs246.com. I can't find you, I've put the post code in the satnav but it's taken me the wrong way.
What can you see
A farm and a pub - the Leave it Out Lads Arms.
Oh right, turn back round, we're the next left.
Ok, see you in 5.

Arrives:
Matt? Yes mate?
I have some things to say to you (says things)
Ok, I find that rather objectionable.
Should we fight it out?
All seems to amount to the square root of <beep> all now really, probably best not to.
Fancy a hoon?
Sure
Thus explaining the ridiculousness (no, it's not a word) of the Internet.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Slightly OT would remapping a C7 RS6 or any other model now have any effect on its future resale value , especially as someone has mentioned the car being logged with Audi HQ and all data being logged each time ?
I know if I was in a position to buy a C7 RS6 I would give a mapped one a miss now purely from a ' what if it goes bang ' point of view . Would it put others off buying a remapped car ?

Its a good question. Previously i wouldn't of thought twice about buying a modified B7 or C6 as long as it was from a tuner like MRC or DMS. However given the number of issues that we are all seeing on the C7 platform now it has put me off buying a tuned one, or buying and then tuning myself (i was looking at the orange PE with 'ramics earlier).

The mapping debate has been going on for years, i had a C6 which had a few issues, i walked into Audi and said id had the car mapped, also exhaust and retrofitted the ceramics and was happy to foot the bill even though it had Audi warranty on it. Audi Crawley took it upon themselves to cover the costs of repairs as they said what had failed was not down to tuning, i.e oil separator, and recently, albeit with the cars new owner, the well known oil leak engine out job. You walk into to tuning with your eyes wide open, and expect the worst when things go wrong, anything other than that is a positive!

Depends !!

I had my old 535d remapped by DMS back in the day

When I sold it privately I didn't mention it initially and then the chap buying it said he was planning on remapping it to which I said don't bother it has been done!! This was when they were undectable.

With the X5 with the same engine that followed i remapped it using somebody else who seemed to be the go to man for bmws. Now whether his map wasn't as good or dealer technology moved on in that time I don't know but when the car went in for routine service it flagged up on their screen in big red letters that the car had been mapped. Dealer was fine and said all other warranty items would be covered (I had a suspension failure which they still covered) but said drivetrain issues would be more difficult to justify.

Anyway when I sold X5 I told the chap buying it straight away that it has been done. He went away and did his research on remaps and then still bought the car because he understood them enough to accept it was probably fine

I've been in touch with DMS about doing my Merc (didn't bother with RS4 being NA) which they can do but personally I just think it is too much of a risk now.

Perhaps it's that Japseroony guy again. I remember a few years ago he claimed to have got the Train to London or something, so he could 'meet' Bam and ended up being a no show.

You map your car you take your chances!!

This is with any car any brand.

Some will go forever, some will pop after a few months.

Luck of the drawer I’m afraid.....probably a dog <beep> map to be fair....Litchfield tuned my old C7 and it was absolutely <beep>!!...misfiring, flat spots, EML light flickering and I also know of another C7 owner who Litchfield fucked up his car big time..of course might have nothing to do with Mr Joinerys circumstances...just my ten pence worth.

I’d personally only use MRC...,

There’s a lad on our chat group running a C7 with 730bhp and has done hundreds of launches and car is sweet as a nut!!
