Bit Coins
Re: Bit Coins
Been into BTC from it's very beginning. Imported some ASIC miners and mined hundreds of coins. Sadly I spent most of them before they really started to rocket. That was about 8 or so years ago now.
As had already been said, don't put into it, more than you can afford to lose. Although having said that, the overall trend has only ever been up and there is no sign of it changing.
Ethereum is perhaps the one to start looking into now, simply due to the fact that it's cheaper and more upcoming. Unlike BTC it doesn't have an upper cap so has the potential to grow even more than BTC in the coming years.
I myself use Coinbase for everything. They even have an app that you can buy and sell from your phone, check the value etc..... In the last few months I have made in excess of £12k in profit.

On what basis do you say that? Have you bought/sold/used any crypto?don0301 wrote:Just as likely to lose in excess of £12k in the next few months...

Re: Bit Coins
There is nothing to back this up. People who say this sort of thing are the same people who don't know anything about the currency. Usually the older generation.
I remember people saying the same thing as you several years ago. The overall trend of Cryptocurrency has only ever been upwards.
Of course there will be the inevitable crash, there have been many over the years but it bounces back and exceeds all expectations before the crash.
It's all based on investment. When whales (People with millions and millions in BTC) cash out, the price drops. This is when we buy. This is also when other whales start to buy, this in turn drives the price upwards.
People can choose to believe what they want to believe. As I said, I have traded and used crypto coins for many years now. Had I just bought and kept instead of spending I would now be rather rich. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Ethereum is starting to get a huge backing in many Euro countries right now. I think the last big investment that springs to mind was charging stations for electric cars in german service stations, these were able to be paid for with Ethereum.
Noticed how everything in your life has become Digital over the last 20 years ? Why should currency be any different ? It's the future.

The rise continues as more and more people begin to accept it.

Re: Bit Coins
So you say I am delusional and highlight the part of my post where I say the overall trend of Bitcoin has only ever been up ?
Then you go a step further and provide a link to a graph of the BTC value showing exactly that ? I see nothing but the overall trend going up ?
I didn't say it has NEVER gone down. The key word here is "Overall". And your link only serves to show that.
Oh... And on a side note I made another £1200 whilst I slept last night.

Re: Bit Coins
This is an argument that’s set to rage on for some time.
But the facts are the facts which you can’t escape.
Banks, governments are either behind bitcoin or trying to figure a way they can get involved.
Blockchain is revolutionary and is here to stay, that’s a fact!
Bitcoin has a market cap bigger than small countries, fact.
Yes some smaller CC’s might disappear but that happens.
If I told you that valuations exist for $40k you’d say I’m crazy but this time last year you’d have said the same about $12k...now look where we are now.
The reason for BTC value is that unlikely traditional currency you can’t just print more. Bitcoin is limited to 22mln coins and already close to 18% are out of circulation.
