Doing Carbon Clean - Got a Few Questions

Post by st@rk » Tue Oct 03, 2017 8:42 pm

I've stripped the inlet off, but as I did, I snapped this part that bolts into the inlet just down from the throttle body. Problem is the part number in the casting isn't recognised by Audi (I have no idea why not!?) so can anyone tell me its correct name? I think it's the PCV venture tube? I don't quite understand what it does. And even better, the Audi part number to order up a replacement?

(First three photos borrowed from another thread - ta!)

Also looking to completely clean out the inlet manifold while it's off; apparently Audi also don't supply a replacement gasket for the inlet if you split the bottom rectangular-ish cover from the main manifold. What do others use to re-seal this? Just gasket sealant?

Thanks for any help!

Thats just called a water connection Part Nr:079 133 424 E
It's suppose to heat up the PCV valve if I am not mistaken. Some people bypass that for various reasons.

Sorry, can't help with this, but some proper gasget type sealant should do if you really have to split the intake, personally I don't think that's needed and apparently so does Audi else they would have supplied one.
