I would also fit some security film to the insides of the windows, as this should stop them even being able to get into the car to steal the seats and stop a lot of the damage that happens from breaking in and stealing ie the door cards damaged, seats ripped etc.
This. You'll only need it on the front two doors. You'd need a pick-axe to get through the front windscreen.

I did the following to protect my seats -

1 - Upgraded to Clifford alarm - it isn't the most sophisticated out there but it has its own interior sensors, blue dash LED and loud siren. I chose that one as it meant I kept the standard remote key to arm/disarm the alarm
Which Clifford did you fit? I'd like an upgrade which keeps the factory key for arm and disarm
It was this one - http://www.clifford.co.uk/Factory_Upgrades.html Seems pretty good to me if I put the wipers down too hard when washing the car it chirps a warning. The only downside is they had to disable the Audi interior sensors so the door LED flashes a warning but has been perfect for 4 years or so now. If you are in Hampshire/Dorset area I can recommend the installer who came to me.

It sounds like some people have welded the seat bolts and filled with epoxy. For those who have - details of where and how much would be great. If extortionate it sounds like Loctite is a good option. I assume this is taking the bolts out, coating and tightening again?

Green Loctite is very strong - you need a lot of heat to break the bond it makes. Yes, undo each bolt, degrease, few drops of Loctite and tighten up again. I wanted to keep the OEM bolts for safety in an accident - there is one that is hard to get to so I didn't Loctite that one as thought it would end up preventing me getting the seats out !

FYI - I would be interested to know what the benefits were and if there was a GB on the go I'd be in.

Ah - I would expect the lock unlock button to work. Leave the window open, lock it with the fob, reach in and try the inside door handle.

That's a shame, the Viper leaves the standard alarm intact, doesn't affect it at all, you just have two instead of one.

Given the interior sensors are easily disabled I don't see it as s great loss vs the convenience of the OEM keyfob. The door LED still flashes - it just lights solid for 30 seconds or something first to indicate a fault.

It requires a lot of skill and a disregard for the rest of the car to get 2 seats out of a window without getting caught. I've had my seats in and out the of the car a few times with the doors open and it's a struggle, they weigh a ton and are quite large. I'm amazed how they manage to get them out.

Sorry to hear about your seats - I had the same and they even nicked the gear stick knob. I got an upgraded alarm etc and also had bolts made with a unique fitting - it wasn't that expensive in the scheme of things.

There is a company doing a new system that before you turn on your car you enter a code via the buttons on your steering wheel. Like a pin for your mobile. You choose the sequence and you cant start without it.
