Anything under 150k miles with good service history (from reputable specialist) will be fine.

Probably hasn't got a gearbox service time from Audi, but they know nothing. That's a fact too.

I read that they had a chain but the maintenance schedule shows to replace ribbed V belt and tensioner, is that the timing belt or some belt that requires to be changed.

The gearbox oil should be changed 35K and 75K

If you're worried about buying between those mileages due to servicing costs, this is not the car for you....

im not worried about the costs' i believe it would be logical to buy a car that has recently had its service done

Depends on the cost of the car, no? 2 cars at same mileage, one £2k more than the other but had it's service, no better off really.
Also depends where the service was done, if at a reputable independent then that's better cause they'll pick up on issues that a stealer wouldn't.

Belts - There's actually 4 chain drives fitted, labelled A - D. Chain drive A acts as a "distributor drive", connecting the crankshaft to the idler gears. Chain drives B and C act as cylinder head drives, connecting the idler gears to each of the camshafts. Chain drive D acts as an ancillary unit drive and drives the oil and water pump module, the air conditioning compressor and the power steering pump. These chains (and their hydraulic tensioners) are fitted for the life of the car.

The V-Belt & tensioner are for the Alternator only.

Gearbox Service - Audi say the GB's are "sealed for the life of the car" but ZF (who actually make the box) said change the oil every 62k miles (100k KM) or 8 years for ANY GB they make! - https://www.zf.com/corporate/en_de/afte ... ang_1.html

That's been Audi's stance for many years and many models. My opinion is two-fold:
1. "life of the car" is different depending on whether you're an owner or a manufacturer
2. if it's sealed, why has it got a drain plug?

I bought mine with 60K with it needing the brakes doing and a service. I was happier just paying less for the car and getting the work done properly rather than a stamp being in the book where I wasn't really sure what had been done.

I packed it off to MRC and got them to do the full service and gearbox service so I knew where I was with the car. I fear with cars like this you're always going have a list of jobs that you want to get done no matter how much you spend ;)

I don't think there is anything big that needs servicing. If you changed ALL possible servicable parts then the price is £1000 at main the dealer. More probably around £390 a year for your average car that has a good service history with stuff being done on time.

Millage isnt an issue really they are solid engines, as long as the obvious issues are sorted!

I'd rather have one thats been well looked after in stage 2 form with a gearbox service already done etc etc... than one with lower millage, i fell foul of that with my first RS6.
It had low millage but nothing had been repaired, which led to a silly expensive engine removal and everything being sorted, the second RS faired much better.
