Chunk. You can't blame me for that
Exit Stage Left?
Exit Stage Left?
Get yourself a B7 RS4!
It'll probably still be worth what you paid for it when you come to sell it, eliminating the biggest cost of most cars; depreciation.
PCP is just a way of financing the depreciation afterall.
If not the B7, another driver's car that has low to no depreciation is surely the sensible thing to do whilst still being in something worth driving.

Steve
That's a real pain so early into a PCP deal
nothing worse than losing money on cars ,but when it's purely interest that's even worse I think. When I bought mine PCP was the only route I could afford and I knew I was in it for the long term.
It's probably very easy for me to say just keep it, but when it's mortgage payments going out each month I can see why you're looking to get out.

Re: Exit Stage Left?
Steve, keep the car
The only other trick I can think of would be to refinance 25k to a personal loan (with the same loan length) to reduce the interest. I don't know the specifics of your agreement, but you mentioned 68k, and I think you've said the car wasn't new, and Audis used approved rate is typically 9.9%
So rather than £68k at 9.9% with Audi, you could have £43k at 9.9% with Audi and £25k at 2.8% with Sainsbury or TSB (the two on the high street with the best rate last time I looked)
In effect, you would be chucking £25k further deposit at Audi.... by borrowing to fund it, but at a much lower rate
Would certainly make a big difference over 36/48 months!
For example, just taking the 25k portion, examples over 3 and 4 years.....
£25k at 9.9%, 36 months, £805.51 a month, total interest payable £4k
£25k at 9.9%, 48 months, £632.86 a month, total interest payable £5,377
£25k at 2.8%, 36 months, £724.83 a month, total interest payable £1,093.84
£25k at 2.8%, 48 months, £551.15 a month, total interest payable £1,455.25

Re: Exit Stage Left?
We presume he still wants a fast car... and newer than an RNSE

Re: Exit Stage Left?
Ok so 24 hours on and with my car being advertised on Tootle it's been quite busy! Had around 6 offers already with dealers calling me repeatedly as they all want the car. Offers range from £59-62k. One thing I've learned is that Tootle is the equivalent of EBay in that they charge the dealers quite a bit if they end up buying the car, they also have to put in a bid to call you. One to consider as it's an extra hit on their profits. So for this to work I'll either sell privately to get the max (dealers confirmed that the retail price for the car is pretty much the same as what I paid for it in April (just under £70k), a dealer will work the figures to get me into one of their cars (bridging loan to swallow up the neg) or I'll keep the car for a while longer. One big bonus on my car is that the previous owner made such a noise that Audi threw lots of replacement bits at him (new rear parcel shelf, new brakes, etc) and then he still rejected it but that's another story
all to my gain though as it makes the car more sellable. Am off to a dealer in Kent on Friday to look at a GT-R they have which looks pretty awesome. They're very keen to make it work and there's been lots of offers and attention. So to those on here giving it the 'the C7 has had its day' the truth (as am sure most on here will be glad to hear) is the opposite! Plenty of life left in these beasts. Oh and pano roof seems to be a 'must have' for dealers which answers a question on another thread!

Re: Exit Stage Left?
The other ideas-Ian thanks mate will look into that seems one way of lowering costs for sure...as for the B7 RS4 well it's a great car but tech wise a big step back. The GT-R am due to see tomorrow is a 2011 model but Litchfield tune of around 700bhp so that will certainly tick the speed and aggression boxes...thing will probably scare the crap out of me

Re: Exit Stage Left?
the jump from C6 to C7 is something i couldnt justify. It just isnt twice the car. looking at a C7 S6 loon they are bargins, 40k for a new car, cheeky remap and turbos and your at rs6 power....... however the v8s keep breaking lol!
GTR will feel cheap and nasty inside compared to the C7, and the tech will feel old too. GTRs are great cars but not on the same level of refinement as the RS6. Id be looking at a 911 997 gen 2 turbo if it was me. just as fast as the 6, good build quality and a very low depreciation curve. 997 turbo S are on the rise so you might see positive depreciation if you buy the right spec

The person who bought my C6 previously had a GTR 700bhp.
Said they were <beep>. And cost a bomb to run plus boring as anything.
C6 was far superior in every way, inside and out.
Get another C6

Re: Exit Stage Left?
Am not doubting the refinement of the Gt-R will be FAR less than any Audi or other quality German marque...it's a Nissan after all!
The C6 I loved but I the economy was shocking! I wouldn't go back to a Saloon as the resale value is gash. One of the lads on here has his mint low miler 2010 Sepang one up on S & R and it's been at that dealer for months now. I personally think it's overpriced (mine went for £23k I think and that was really tidy but it struggled to sell).
