Europe - Road Trip.

Post by RoyK » Mon Jun 05, 2017 12:58 pm

Hi all,

Hoping to get some great ideas and input.

A few of the lads and I are planning a 10 day road through Europe.

We have a rough idea on where we might go... Planning on :-

Southern Germany
Stuttgart motor world
onto the western Alps -
moving onto Switzerland (grindewald)
moving on to the passes (furka / Susten / etc)
Continuing into Mont Blanc
Then route napoleon to Monaco

Possibly end up in Barcelona

But we are open to suggestions and any places that are a must to drive through or visit.

Thank you all for your input.

tbh, sounds like you have it nailed

if heading to Barca then you MUST MUST MUST MUST drive the Collada de Toses aka the N152 which is part of the N260 which runs along the Pyrenees.

Its 90 mins from Barcelona.

I did it last year, then when to Barca, then drove from Barca along to Route Napoleon.

tbf, Barca to Route Napoleon is a LONG way, I spent most of the day on the motorway

BUT, if you have the time and the inclination, doing the whole of the N260 is well worth it. IMO, the Pyrenee's is MUCH MUCH better than the Alps. Doesn't have the grandeur of the views and height, but for pure driving pleasure, its insane

If you have time then head to northern Italy too. We were there a few weeks back. Managed to get into the Lamborghini museum and mini me got a shout in a Hurracan too - at four years old I'm still amazed that he never wet himself!

You'll be amazed how much ground you cover in 10 days.

We did Switzerland, Italy (Verona, Venice, Florence and Pisa) and then hot shotted it up to Disneyland Paris on the way back.

We also did 4,500 miles in five weeks in 2008, taking in 14 countries.

You like driving, right?!
